Port-to-door container delivery begins after the required customs, steamship line, and terminal releases are available. The pickup plan also depends on container availability, cargo weight, chassis and equipment requirements, and the last free day.

Before pickup

Provide the port or terminal, container number and size, cargo weight, availability date, last free day, and complete final address. Residential deliveries also require a review of road access, overhead clearance, parking restrictions, and unloading plans. Commercial warehouse deliveries may require receiving appointments, reference numbers, dock instructions, and operating hours.

During transit

Milestone updates can be shared through pickup, inland transit, delivery appointment, and completion. Timing may be affected by terminal congestion, equipment availability, weather, traffic, and receiving conditions.

At delivery

After the shipment is completed, delivery confirmation or proof of delivery can be provided when available. Charges outside the base transportation quote may include storage, demurrage, detention, chassis use, waiting time, tolls, redelivery, overweight permits, or special equipment.
